The California Boating Safety Officers Association (CBSOA) is proud to announce its
annual scholarship competition awards program open to any currently enrolled
undergraduate college student, high school senior enrolled in an accredited college, or
a student enrolled in an accredited trade school. To apply, the applicant must be a
direct dependent/ descendant of an active or retired member in good standing. A
deceased CBSOA member must have been in good standing for their dependent to
qualify for the scholarship.
This is a unique opportunity to earn scholarship assistance for the 2024-2025 academic
year.  Scholarships up to $3,000 in total value will be awarded to one or more
recipients. California Boating Safety Officer Association (CBSOA) works to reduce the
incidence of death and injury in the aquatic environment through public education,
boating safety standards, training programs, promotion of high levels of boating safety,
enforcement, rescue readiness and other means of boating safety education. CBSOA
Board wanted to honor family members of our association who are in pursuit of higher
education. In order to help achieve their educational pursuit, CBSOA Board established
this annual scholarship competition awards program. Â
All applicants will be required to submit an essay and participate in an
interview.  Awards will be based on the applicant’s ability to analyze and respond to the
essay topic in writing and their attendance/participation at the interview. Proof of
enrollment to the accredited college or school will be required.
All scholarship application window opens May 1, 2024, and must be received no later
than June 15, 2024.  After application is approved the requirements for the essay will
be sent. Essay must be completed and submitted by July 15, 2024. Short interview will
be scheduled for top candidates after the 1 st of August if necessary.
